DataCAD is a professional-level, AEC CADD program for architectural design, photo-realistic rendering, animation, and construction document creation. Developed by architects and software engineers for architecture, DataCAD includes tools that make design and drafting easier, such as automatic door and window insertion, associative dimensioning and hatching, automated 3D framing, Teigha-based DXF/DWG translators, and DCAL, an applications development language for third-party developers.

How long have you been in business?
DATACAD LLC has been developing software for AEC professionals since 1996. Our CADD software, DataCAD, has been commercially available since 1984.
What is your primary product or service?
We are the developer of DataCAD, a CADD software program for AEC professionals.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My background is in Architecture, Construction, Design, and Computers. Up until 1990, I was pursuing a career in Architecture. At that time, I became a dealer for DataCAD and began consulting to AEC professionals who were making the transition to desktop CADD.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
DATACAD has been described as a 'boutique' CADD company. We are a small business that provides software and service primarily to other small businesses. Our company is more accessible and our products are more affordable than industry-standard companies such as Autodesk.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our software is distributed electronically, so we do not have physical store-front locations. DataCAD is distributed world-wide.
